Picture It: Going Green (DearSugar)
Irish President Mary McAleese, the country’s second – and consecutive – female
president, greets Queen Elizabeth in Dublin today. The queen is the first UK
monarch to visit Ireland since 1911, following the country’s bitter war for
independence. Security is tight for the historic visit; police have already
subverted a planned bomb attack and downtown Dublin is virtually a car-free
zone. See more photos of the queen sporting her Irish green, as well as the
protests, now.
